The Lost Ones

There are 3000 dogs and 2000 cats born every hour to 45 humans… alarming percentage rate of the animal population are lost or when found are kept in animal shelters. Most of them do not end up end up in pretty portraits. I found this mutt sitting under a street market booth by himself. His eyes tell of all the misery…

During my search for a Lost Dog Network , I ran into a very interesting company based right here in Victoria, BC. The founder is a very intelligent and kind woman named, Cate. A percentage of the profits from their pet tags are donated to animal welfare organizations throughout Canada. Pet ID tags are usually made from plain and boring stainless steel but these tags from BlanketID are very chic and trendy. Not to worry, they are made from 100% quality materials that are waterproof and scratch resistant. Check out Cate’s cool Under The Blanket Blog! Each and every BlanketID pet tags have a unique serial number which helps you quickly locate your pet if he/she gets lost. BlanketID.com provides a web based service where you can create all your pet’s profile and details with their photos. You can update your pet’s info at any time. If your pet ever gets lost, BlanketID will automatically broadcast to all animal shelters, hospitals and local SPCA. When your pet is found, the finder just simply enters your pet’s unique tag number to access all the information for a safe and fast return of your pet.
One of my dogs is registered to BlanketID and we absolutely love Cate’s design, “Green Butterfly” They are also sold in your local Pet Boutiques. We think it’s a pawsome idea. Keep up the great work Cate!

Happy Birthday Atka!

The first time I fell in love with the German Shepherd breed was in 1999. My K9 instructor from Hokkaido, Japan had introduced me to the Bullinger Shepherds located in Aldergrove, BC.  Zasper “Atka” vom Bullinger was born in June 02, 2007. His loyalty towards our family is truly a special one… I took the name Atka from a Inuit term meaning “Guardian Spirit”

Happy Earth Day

Recently people are more concern about products that would save our earth. Earth Day has dog owners looking for more ways to help save our earth with our pooches. I’ve had a great chance to work with EcoPup Dog Clothing and Flora & Fauna Designs. Both designers based in Vancouver, BC have a deep love for the natural beauty in our world. Here is “Bitta” a fabulous model for Ecopup. She belongs to Pauline Siu of Flora & Fauna Designs. Was delightful working with her!

Bitta is a 1 & half year old Chow Chow/Labrador female rescued from K911 in Alabama, USA. She is cautious like a Chow Chow but very affection like a Labrador Retriever. Bitta loves to snuggle with her two cats at home and stroll on long trails in our beautiful British Columbia!

Was it the Chicken or the Egg?

Spring has come!

Happy New Year!

Nana is a 3 years old female, Russell Terrier. She has been a close friend of our family. Our Atka and Nana are very close friends. She is very spunky and full of life!

Holiday Greetings

Chutney is my first dog. She is the most friendly 6 yrs. old Labrador Retriever I’ve ever met. Like most Labs she is full of energy and constantly on the go! Chutney has taught our family the true meaning of life.

This is Atka, he came to me at the age of 6 months. Such a sweet German Shepherd and full of mischief! He loves to swim and play fetch with his older sister Chutney, a Chocolate Labrador Retriever. I have no problem shooting portraits with this fella. He’s a natural! Just loves being in front of the camera.
